Looking ahead to 2016.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! In my last post I looked back at 2015, this time I’m looking ahead to plans for this year. In terms of trips, Fraser and I have a couple booked and some potential ideas in the pipeline also.

First up in a couple of weeks we shall be going to Romania for 4 days as part of a Groupon deal. We will be flying to Sibiu and will then move around Transylvania with the highlights being Dracula’s Castle and a night in an ice hotel (cold weather permitting).

Secondly, in February we are flying across to Canada to spend a week skiing in Whistler (I’ve finally managed to persuade Fraser to try it) and a week in Vancouver. I have previously been in summer but cannot wait to see it in winter.

Other potential trips include one to Bhutan in the autumn. For Christmas I received a Harry Potter locations book so I shall be trying to cross a few more of these off my list this year.

In terms of theatre we currently have two shows booked- “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” UK tour in April and “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” in August both of which I am very excited about. I’m hoping to get to see many more whether through work or otherwise.

As the year goes by hopefully more plans will come to fruition and as always I will be documenting it all on mytravelbugbite.

  1. Happy New Year! Your trips sound very interesting and exciting, I would love to go skiing in Canada! For me, South America is on my itinerary 🙂

  2. Happy New Year.

You’ll enjoy Whistler, which has tons of snow this year. Even in Vancouver we have 3 great mountains for skiing on the North Shore. Unlikely you will see snow in Vancouver, except the North Shore Mountains. You can expect it to be wet and possibly windy.

Regardless, Vancouver has some great sights even in the rain and a couple of excellent theatres. You should also consider a ferry trip over to spend a day in Victoria. Butchart Gardens and Church & State Winery are in Saanich (enroute to Victoria from the ferry) and downtown has a multitude of attractions, including the Provincial Parliament & Empress Hotel (afternoon tea).

If you want ideas or suggestions, for Vancouver or Victoria, please send me an email.. Don’t know much about Whistler in Winter, as we only visit in the summer.

After last year’s round the World we are staying closer to home this year. Hawaii in April then hitch up the RV for a 5 or 6 month trip across Canada, which includes a short trip down to Indiana.
