Nostell Priory is a grand house located near Wakefield n West Yorkshire that is a National Trust property. It was built in the 1730s on the site of an old priory from medieval times.
The inside is filled with fancy furniture and ornate décor. Much of the furnishing is from the Chippendale workshop in Otley.
There are extensive grounds to explore outside the house. One option is a walk to the menagerie gardens. There is foliage of all sorts as you stroll past the lakes.
It is a really pleasant way to spend a few hours in both the house itself and the grounds.
